The SSI Try Scuba program is your introduction to the underwater world. This entry-level program gives you the opportunity to experience the underwater world, in a confined water setting. You will earn the SSI Try Scuba recognition rating.
This program gives you the opportunity to experience the underwater world, in a confined water and open water setting – without committing to a longer certification program. If you decide to become an Open Water Diver within six months of completing your Basic Diver program, your first open water dive will be credited as one of the required training dives.
This program is for students who do not have the time to complete the Open Water Diver program, and provides you with the training and experience required to dive in open water environments under the supervision of a dive professional. You will earn the SSI Scuba Diver certification, which can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver certification with additional training.
This globally-recognized certification program is the best way to begin your life-long adventure as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

PURPOSE OF THE DIVE
This introduction is designed to exhibit the technology and ease of Open Circuit diving, in a pool or in confined water environment with pool like conditions.
Be able to swim comfortably. Be a minimum of 10 years old (adult consent needed if under the age of 18 years, or other age depending on the laws of the country you train in).

IN WATER EXPERIENCE
Your introduction will be in a low-stress environment. After determining you have basic swimming skills, your instructor will demonstrate the required skills for you to swim underwater, whilst breathing on open circuit scuba.
This is NOT a certification programme. However, you can follow on and start your Scuba Diver or Open Water 20 certification programme.

The RAID Junior Scuba Diver program was designed to accommodate those between the ages 10-14 who are short on time and can't complete the full Junior Open Water 20 course. The Junior Scuba Diver program is derived from the RAID Junior Open Water 20 course and provides you with basic knowledge and the full experience of scuba diving and the underwater World.
PREREQUISITES: Swim comfortably. Age: Junior SCUBA Diver - 10 to 14 years old.
COURSE CONTENT Online e-learning or mobile APP academic presentations, quizzes, exam. Complete the skill requirements as specified by the specific training manual. Before any Open Water diving the student shall effectively show proof of, or demonstrate, to a scuba instructor: A ten-minute survival swim/float without the use of mask, fins, snorkel, or other swimming aids; Distance swimming capability by one of the two following methods: swim 200 m without the use of mask, fins, snorkel, or other swimming aids; OR swim 300 m using mask, fins and snorkel without other swimming aids.
If conditions warrant students may wear a diving suit provided they are weighted for neutral buoyancy Complete course over a minimum of two days and totaling a minimum of: 1 hour logged underwater in Open Water. 2 Open Water dives
DEPTH LIMITATION 12 metres / 40 feet
Upon completion of the RAID Junior Scuba Diver program you will receive a certification card indicating your completion of the course. This will allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40ft with a dive progessional across many parts of the world. The Scuba Diver certification is also a recognition of learning and allows you to fast track your RAID Junior Open Water 20 course at a later date by not having to repeat any skills that overlap with the two programs.
This package combines the Open Water Diver with the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty program. You will earn the Open Water Diver and Enriched Air Nitrox (32% or 40%) Specialty certifications after completing these programs.
To train students that when evaluated by the RAID Instructor are deemed to have sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to dive with an adult buddy diver of at least the same level of certification or higher in Open Water conditions like that in which their training was conducted in or better, without supervision of a dive leader (scuba Instructor/Divemaster).

The Nitrox Speciality may be combined with this course, provided the Nitrox certification is completed after the SCUBA Diver or Junior SCUBA Diver certification.
10 to 11-year old: The maximum depth of 12 metres / 50 feet
12 to 14-year old: The maximum depth of 20 metres / 60 feet
The SSI Scuba Rangers Program is a club that offers numerous diving activities for children ages 8 - 12. Safety is a top priority and Scuba Rangers programs are only taught by specially trained instructors in a pool, or under confined water conditions in a protected area up to a maximum depth of 5 meters. You will earn the Scuba Rangers recognition rating.
This program allows you to experience five different open water dives from five SSI Specialty programs without requiring you to complete the entire Specialty. If you are unsure of your next step, this is the perfect way to advance your dive skills and experience, and to identify which Specialty programs interest you. You will earn the SSI Advanced Adventurer certification after completing this program.
Attention: The Advanced Adventurer certification is not counted towards the AOWD Recognition. To achieve one or more specialty certification(s) for the AOWD, you may decide to complete one or more of these specialties. Your dives from the Advanced Adventurer course will of course be counted.
