Sidemount Rec Diver FAQs

Owning your own scuba tank can be a worthwhile investment for avid divers, as it offers several benefits. First and foremost, it ensures that you have reliable and well-maintained equipment that you are familiar with, which can improve your safety during dives. Having your own tank also eliminates the need to rent tanks, which can add up over time, especially for frequent divers. Personal ownership allows you to customize your setup, choose the right tank size for your dive type, and avoid potential issues with rental equipment like leaks or improperly filled tanks. However, owning a tank requires regular maintenance and proper storage, as well as transport, which may not be convenient for all divers. For those who dive frequently or enjoy traveling to various dive sites, owning your own tank may be a cost-effective and convenient choice in the long run.
