PADI AWARE Specialty FAQs

Project Aware was founded in 1989 by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) to help protect the world's oceans. Initially, it focused on marine debris, specifically underwater conservation and the removal of trash from dive sites. Over time, the initiative expanded to include broader issues such as shark conservation, marine species protection, and ocean pollution. Today, Project Aware engages communities globally in marine life preservation through ocean advocacy, debris clean-ups, and educational initiatives.
