About the Course

The underwater world takes on a whole new personality after the sun goes down. Dusk is dinnertime on the reef, and many fascinating creatures emerge under the cover of darkness. As a PADIยฎ Night Diver, you'll learn how to make the most of the dark.

Using your dive light, you'll see how familiar dive sites transform into something completely different โ€” and how a whole cast of nocturnal animals comes out to play.

How to Earn a Night Diver Certification

Learn how to plan and enjoy night dives safely through online independent study, then put it into practice across three night dives with your PADI Instructor โ€” practicing light signals, navigation and buoyancy after dark.

PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Complete the independent study part of your course whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor for in-water training, or whenever you have a question.

With Your Instructor

ADDITIONAL COST: Your Dive Shop will charge fees for training and gear rental.

You'll complete three night dives with your instructor, practicing dive light handling and signals, navigation in the dark, buoyancy control, and how to identify the nocturnal creatures that emerge after sunset.

Night Diver FAQs
