The PADIยฎ Drift Diver Specialty course shows you how to enjoy moving with the water safely, using the current to cover more ground while staying oriented and close to your buddy.

How to Earn a Drift Diver Certification

Learn how to plan and enjoy drift dives safely through online independent study, then put it into practice across two dives with your PADI Instructor โ€” practicing buoyancy, navigation and surface signaling in current.

PADI eLearning

PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Complete the independent study part of your course whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor for in-water training, or whenever you have a question.

With Your Instructor

ADDITIONAL COST: Your Dive Shop will charge fees for training and gear rental.

You'll complete two dives with your instructor, practicing drift dive planning and procedures, buoyancy control, staying with your buddy, and using floats, reels and surface signaling devices so the boat can track your position.

Drift Diver FAQs
